SUNDAY SCHOOL IS ON WINTER BREAK. CLASSES WILL RESUME ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 10, 2016
“…If we simply train them (children) properly they will come out just to the highest standard of Vaisnava devotee. And what is that training? Simply they should be engaged in such a way that they are somehow or other remembering Krishna at every moment, that’s all. It’s not some mechanical process, if we force in such a way they will come out like this, no. We are persons, and Krishna is a Person… Forcing will not make me agree, but if there is love, oh, I shall gladly do it. That is Bhakti, that is Krishna Consciosuness…
These children are the future hope of our society, so it is a very important matter how we are training them in Krishna Consciousness from the very childhood”…
Srila Prabhupada
Prahlada Maharaja said: Hearing and chanting about the transcendental holy name, form, qualities, paraphernalia and pastimes of Lord Visnu, remembering them, serving the lotus feet of the Lord, offering the Lord respectful worship with sixteen types of paraphernalia, offering prayers to the Lord, becoming His servant, considering the Lord one’s best friend, and surrendering everything unto Him (in other words, serving Him with body, mind and words) – these nine processes are accepted as pure devotional service. One who has dedicated his life to the service of Krishna through these nine methods should be understood to be the most learned person, for he has acquired complete knowledge. (SB 7.5.23-24)
Teachers will plan and prepare classes according to age and understanding of the topics. If you have any questions about the curriculum or Sunday School program in general, please contact SyamaMohini devi dasi at smdd@radhakrishnaphoenix.org
“Any family engaged in Krishna’s service is living not in this material world. Such a home is considered as Vaikuntha (the spiritual world) That is the verdict of Bhaktivinode Thakura. (Srila Prabhupada letter to Indira 15 August, 1971)
